Video Transcription:
Okay, so starting us off at number 10
We have a 2020-21 Upper Deck Black Jason Robertson rookie autograph numbered /299. This is actually a redemption Upper Deck came through pretty quickly I’d say three, or four months on this one. Love watching Robertson play- he’s absolutely electric and I think he has a big bright future in the league.
Number 9 on our list we have a 2020-21 Upper Deck Black Diamond, Josh Norris Diamond Debut rookie patch autograph numbered /25. Gotta love the rookie low-number autos. Josh is a lot of fun to watch. I think he’s gonna be a big part of Ottawa’s rebuilding there and a great young player to keep an eye on.
Next on our list is number 8. 2020-21 Upper Deck Premier Ilya Sorokin. RPA /49. This rookie patch autograph has a really nice patch to it. It’s also an acetate card which makes it a little bit more desirable than some of the others in the set. Sorokin was stunning in net this past season, putting down seven shutouts and a .925 save percentage, only behind Igor Shesterkin whose efforts made him a Hart candidate.
Coming in at number seven on our list, we have a 2020-21 Skybox Metal Universe Tim Stutzle rookie Precious Metal Gems numbered to /100. Stutzle joined the League in 2020-21, with teammate Josh Norris, who we featured at number nine on our list. The third overall pick in 2020, Stutzle has been putting up numbers and is definitely a young player you want to keep an eye on.
Number 6. 2020-21 Upper Deck premier Alexis Lafreniere autographed rookie card. Lafreniere was the number one overall pick in the 2020 draft, selected by the New York Rangers. Some have voiced some concern over his lack of production, producing only 52 points in 135 NHL games. However, I think the Rangers have a lot of depth in his winger position and he will have a bright future once he has the opportunity to showcase his skills. Most people think for a number one overall draft pick, he would be a finesse skater however, he’s really impressed me with his size, stature, and physical play.
Coming in at number five we have a 2020-21 Upper Deck Stature Guy Lafleur autographed Century Momentous numbered to /5. I love this card for a couple of reasons. One it is hard-signed and regrettably, Lafleur passed away in April of 2022. Also, the low number makes it super attractive and I just love that Lafleur is pictured with the cup on this particular card from one of the many Montreal Canadiens Cup wins.
Number four we have a 2019-2020 Cale Makar autographed rookie inked insignia numbered /75 from The Cup. The Cup is definitely Upper Deck’s premier hockey product, upper echelon, I don’t think there’s anything out there right now more sought after by collectors. Cale Makar busted into the league as one of the best two way players in the game and 2019-2020’s Calder Trophy winner.
So before we get to the top three on our list, we’re going to take a little bit of break and go over three cards that are an honorable mention. These cards are valued at between 50 and $100. So not necessarily based on today’s value, we based this more on the player’s upside.
So number one, we have Yegor Sharangovich. It’s a 2020-21 Upper Deck Clear Cut Young Gun. These are really cool acetate cards, not so easy to pull. Yegor has quick hands, knows how to find the net, and I think he’s going to have a fun career to watch up with Jack Hughes in New Jersey. Number two- Nils Hoglander Draft Day Marks. These are really cool cards there are groups that collect specifically these DDM’s, as they call them. This is number /35. Hoglander’s small in stature but plays a big game excited to see what he does for Seattle in the next couple of years. And number three, we have a Dylan Cozens autographed card number /49. Cozens, a great two way player, plays a really physical game and his nickname is the “workhorse from white horse.” Really excited to see what these three bringing to the league in the next couple of seasons.
Number 3- 2019-2020 Upper Deck Premiere acetate Adam Fox rookie patch autographed card number to 49. This is kind of cool because it was actually pulled in a 2020-21 Upper Deck Premiere. Its kind of like an update where Upper Deck didn’t have production ready for the previous release so they just included it in the latter year.
Fox has been super exciting to watch- him and Makar are battling it out right now as the best two young defensemen in the league. Definitely, definitely a player to keep an eye on.
Number 2- 2020-21 Premier Kirill Kaprizov rookie gold autograph number /35. Kirill the Thrill started hot out of the gate in the 2020-21 season winning the Calder Trophy. Him and Robertson went back and forth but Kirill pulled ahead as the clear winner. Gotta love what Kirill what Kirills doing up in Minnesota he has definitely helped put the Wild on the map the last couple of seasons
…And topping off our list at number one, we have a 2020 21 Upper Deck Stature Connor McDavid, autographed, patch relic. Beautiful patch on this card and it is numbered six of nine. Connor is easily one of the most exciting players and electrifying players to ever play the game. Hailed as the next Gretzky, I am really excited about this card and I remember opening it and absolutely jaw-dropping when I saw the beauty of it.
So that completes the list of our top 10 Hockey pulls from 2022 So far. Hoping we get some more beauties to add to this list. As always, we appreciate you. Thank you for watching. Like, Comment and Subscribe
