Our story is not much different from many others who recently rejoined the hobby.
In April 2020, the world was beginning to reel from the onset of the Corona Virus Pandemic. Person. The world was forced into a situation unprecedented in our lifetime.
Day after day was filled with uncertainty, breaking news that painted the situation as bleaker, as the lucky among us did our best to carry on through the groundhog day-like scenario.
Around this time, many of us were forced to take on hobbies and interests. They helped us escape the daily worry for ourselves, our families, friends, and the state of our world. Some took up jigsaw puzzles, became bbq pit bosses (shoutout to Grilled Jawn), or picked up on home projects that had been dormant for years.
For me and many others, it was sports and trading cards. There was a particular nostalgia aspect- recalling childhood collections trades and the thrill of the hunt opening packs looking for “the right guys.” As time went on, I realized how ingrained the hobby had become in me.
This website is my way of giving back to the hobby and community that gave me the much-needed escape from the doom and gloom of the COVID-19 “dark days.” I plan on posting some of the things I have learned, situational advice, and insight I have gained since getting back into the sports card hobby.
